Big man who threw 'fare dodging student' off train will not face prosecution

Big man who threw 'fare dodging student' off train will not face prosecution | Mail Online

I posted about this at the time. The big guy is actually a merchant banker who dresses down to travel with the great unwashed on the trains. He should know the Law. He had absolutely no right to manhandle and put the yob off the train. Morally, certainly, he had but not legally. Should the yob have attacked the railway employee that would have been a different matter.
As no prosecution will now take place, it leaves the door open for any passenger to take the Law into their own hands, on a train, citing this case.
The yob may still raise a Private Prosecution, in Civil Court, sueing for damages, for common assault. The evidence is there after all and the big guy will have no defence whatever.
